Gloria Mae Doty, 96, of Hampton Fields Village, Allison Park, formerly of New Eagle, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 3, 1926, in Charleroi, daughter of Octavio and Ava Troiani Romito. Gloria was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. She was employed as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company in Charleroi in the 1940s. She was a member of the New Eagle Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the New Eagle Bowling League. Gloria enjoyed baking, cooking and crafting and adored her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Richard Doty of Carrolltown, Texas; son-in-law, Peter McAneny of Mars; five grandsons, Brian Doty, Jason (Christie) Doty, Christopher (Melissa) McAneny, Michael (Ashley) McAneny and David McAneny; seven great-grandchildren, Brylee, Austin, Landon and Grady Doty, and Evan, Mia and Harley McAneny; sister, Elaine Niccolai of New Eagle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Doty, who died Aug. 19, 2018; daughter, Joyce McAneny; daughter-in-law, Carole Doty; and 12 siblings, Donald Romito, Urania Burns, Dena Campagna, Tarso Romito, Elvira Romito, Nellie Similo, Anthony Romito, Cora Volosin, Audrey Henrion, Albert Romito, Etlo Romito and Paul Romito. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Monongahela. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
