Dennis ‘Popeye’ Jay Lang – Charleroi

Dennis “Popeye” Jay Lang, 69, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Feb. 12, 2023. Dennis was born on Jan. 18, 1954, to the late John Lang and Sarah Jane Davidson. Dennis was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved going to his nephews’ baseball games to watch them play. At baseball games, Dennis earned the nickname “Ribby” due to his enthusiastic cheering for his team. Surviving to cherish Dennis’ memory are his brothers, Joseph (Christine) Davidson of Charleroi and John (Sheri Myers) Lang of Minnesota; and his sister, Jacqueline Lang and her husband Randall Davis. Also surviving to cherish Dennis’ memory are his numerous nieces and nephews, Joshua (Angela) Lang, Patricia (Robbie) Henderson, Scott (Amber) Hallam, Angela (Ray) Lint, Jessica DeVore, Christopher Piper, Breanna Lang, Margaret Anderson, Addio (Brigette) Fiordigigli, Anne (Tim) Wytovich, Amy Clark, John Clark, Shawn Clark, and his best friend, Denise Bailey. In addition to his parents, Dennis was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris LaRew; and his sisters, Tina Baker and Deborah Prentice. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.
