Two local school districts honored by Association of School Administrators

Two Mon Valley School Districts were recognized by the American Association of School Administrators as being educational models for the entire country The organization chose 49 school districts from a list of about 14,000 nationwide, with 21 districts being named Lighthouse districts — labeled as schools that are “lighting the way” for public education throughout the country — and 28 more earning the Demonstration Systems to Watch designation which puts them on their way to becoming Lighthouses. In the Mon Valley, the Elizabeth Forward School District earned a Lighthouse distinction, while California Area School District was named a Demonstration System to Watch.
