Dayna Lynn Wyke, 33, of Smithton, formerly of Charleroi, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, in her home. She was born June 12, 1989, in Greensburg, daughter of David M. Wyke of Smithton and Tammy George Haywood of Monongahela. Dayna was a 2007 graduate of Charleroi Area High School. She was attending Westmoreland County Community College in hopes of earning a degree in sociology and psychology with the goal of working in drug and alcohol counseling. She was a stay-at-home mom and was a wonderful mother to her three children. Dayna loved snowboarding, especially at Seven Springs, and shopping. She is survived by her loving fiancé José Resto; three children, Trystan Chipps and Janiya L. and Jayden Resto, all at home; two brothers, Jason Wingrove of Turner Falls, Mass., and David (Kaitlyn) Wyke of North Charleroi; sister, Allison Haywood of Monongahela; nephews, Korbin and Konner Wyke; paternal grandmother, Carol Wyke of Smithton; maternal grandfather, Richard George of Belle Vernon; and maternal grandmother, Sara Caldwell of Monongahela; and maternal grandparents, John and Patty Leone of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold “Duke” Haywood; and paternal grandfather, Howard Wyke. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Schollaert officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
