Monongahela rallies around flooded businesses

Monongahela community members rallied on the corner of Fourth and West Main streets Thursday to raise money for small businesses that suffered damage from a water- line break last week. Multiple news crews covered the event and Historical Society President Laura Magone and former Monongahela resident Randy Walters went live on Facebook to promote the cause. “We’re trying to raise a minimum of $6,000 so we can give at least $1,000 to each of the merchants that were flooded by the water break,” Magone said. “We’re already about halfway there. It’s been a good start so far.”
