By obits

On the morning of Jan. 15, 2023, Joseph “Joe” E. Chandler of Sauk Rapids, Minn., formerly of Glassport, died at the age of 72. Joe was born to Francis and Dolores Chandler in 1950. He was a graduate of South Allegheny in 1968. He then went onto junior college for drafting. In 1977, he began working for Bellefield Boiler Plant in Pittsburgh, where he retired after 30 years. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed spending time at Tidioute. He also appreciated national history, science, his family and loved to travel. He moved to Sauk Rapids, Minn., in 2007, where he went to work for Kraft to later retire. If you knew Joe, he was a hardheaded, fun-loving, generous kind of guy who was always up for “let’s go for a ride.” Joe was survived by his wife of 16 years, Michelle “Mitzi” Chandler; daughters, Stacy and Stephanie (Stan); grandsons, Caden, Braydon and Rayce; siblings, David, James and Mary Ann Pohill and their families; and Dana, Carla, Kay, Connie and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Dolores Chandler. Celebration of life was commemorated in Sauk Rapids.
