Students around the Mon Valley are having a fun, educational and eventful week as the celebrate their Catholic educations, communities and the people who make it possible.
National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States.
Now in its 49th anniversary year, CSW has traditionally been held the last week in January.
Schools typically observe the week with Masses, assemblies and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate.
This year’s theme, “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service,” has brought smiles and fun this week.
At Madonna Catholic in Monongahela, festivities kicked off Friday with a student pep rally and minute-to-win-it game” where teachers faced off against their students.
