Sharon ‘Mall Mall’ Reid Kuchera – Monessen

By obits

On Sept. 15, 2022, holding the hands of both daughter, Tina Marie and namesake and niece, Sharon Michele, our beloved went home to be reunited with the Lord following a short but aggressive illness. Known for lighting up a room everywhere she went with her witty sense of humor, she had an innate love for life. She was the daughter of the late Nellie Blanche Wise and the late James Reid Wilson and was born on April 18, 1955, in Gary, Ind. Preceding her in death by two weeks was her beloved husband of almost 24 years, Daniel Wayne Kuchera. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Wise; sister-in-law, Cheryl J. Wise; brother-in-law, John Lawrence Sergi Sr.; and nephew, John Lawrence Sergi Jr., all of Monessen. She attended Belle Vernon High School and went on to be a stay-at-home mother, being homeroom mother just about every year. After such time, she worked at Hallsworth House and Adult Assisted Living for many years, finally settling on private home health care until recently and she was highly regarded. She was a member of the Eagles and former Croatian Club in Monessen. Not only was she known for her sense of humor and pranks, she was equally known for her tenacity and strength, after having beaten cervical cancer in 2015. She was an avid animal lover as well. Surviving Sharon are her daughter, Tina Marie (William) Vetter; and son, Mark Andrew II (Robyn) Yonko Jr.; granddaughters, Nicole Lynn Koster and Savannah Jo Vetter; grandson, Mark Andrew Yonko III; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; nieces and nephews, Jodie Lyn (JZ) Zupan, Gianna, Sharon Michele Wise, Ashley and Jarod Harabaugh, Erica Wise and Andrew Amati; best friend, Angie Zupan; and her beloved dogs, Rambo and Bugsy Malone Kuchera. The family of Daniel and Sharon Kuchera welcomed friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen. A memorial service and luncheon was held Jan. 28, 2023. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations in their name to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of the United States.
