Charles ‘Chuck’ Radock – Wexford

By obits

Charles “Chuck” Radock, 92, a longtime resident of Wexford, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.  A son of the late Nicholas and Pauline Radish Radock, he was born in Fairhope on Aug. 8, 1930. A 1948 graduate of Marion High School, Chuck reached the rank of staff sergeant while serving in the radar maintenance section of the 765th AC&W Squadron of the United States Air Force from 1951-55. After graduating from the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute in Washington, D.C., Chuck started his career as a television technician at WKBN in Youngstown, where he met his wife of 58 years, Alice. He then joined his older brother, Joe, at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh. After 28 years at KDKA, Chuck retired in 1995. Survivors include his wife, Alice Kelly Radock; and children, James Radock (Donna), Lisa Bonifate (Bill Fucci) and Kathleen Radock (Amy Camp). He also leaves behind grandchildren, Ben and Celia Radock and Alexis, Anastasia and April Bonifate. He was preceded in death by brothers, George, Joseph, Michael, Richard and Steve; and sisters, Sophia Cutter and Paulette Radock. Chuck was a natural storyteller, sharing childhood tales riding his bike around the Mon Valley, a day trip with friends climbing Mt. Katahdin during his military days and stories from his time at KDKA. Chuck continued to enjoy repairing electronic equipment of all types in his retirement. He was a tinkerer and a music fan and was always willing to help out a family member. He was a follower of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins (in good years and bad). He dabbled in home videos during his retirement, even creating claymation videos, most starring his handcrafted lead actors, Mort and Clay. Chuck’s easy-going manner and spirit will be greatly missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Mary Kay Glunt officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
