Softly, Dowinda Lee Flythe, age 74, was called home on Jan. 22, 2023. She was born in Monessen, to the late Betty J. McWilliams. Dowinda, a member of the Community Living Care Inc. family, has spent the last 28 years living in Greensburg, bringing much joy to her friends and family of CLC who call her “Winnie.” CLC friends described Winnie as spunky, determined, charismatic, resilient and “our Queen.”  Winnie will be forever loved and in our hearts. Dowinda is survived by her brother, Irvin (Carmen) McWilliams of Monessen; also, Arleen, Sheree, Jerrell (Germane), Tekisha (Jayson Roy) and Cicely; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Dowinda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty J. McWilliams; brother, Thomas McWilliams; uncles, Earl and John Quincy Flythe; aunt, Doris Redwine; and a host of other family members. Viewing will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, with a service starting at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with Pastor, Bishop Karl Jackson, officiating. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery following the service.
