Margaret I. Soltis Roe – Monessen

Margaret I. Soltis Roe, 86, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at UPMC Family Hospice, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Macura Soltis. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Mrs. Roe was Catholic by faith. Margaret worked in the ad department of the Valley Independent newspaper until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble on the computer and cross stitching. She is survived by a son, Jack Roe and wife Lisa; her beloved grandson, Travis Roe; and sister, Dorothy Stefan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Roe; seven brothers, John “Smoke,” Michael “Lefty,” George, Joseph, Pete, Andrew “Slab” and Paul Soltis; and two sisters, Ann and Mary. Funeral services are private for the family and have been entrusted to PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183.
