John E. Yantek Sr. – formerly of Bentleyville

John E. Yantek Sr., 87, formerly of Bentleyville, passed away on Sunday, Jan 22, 2023, at Heritage Manor Brentwood. Born in Fallowfield Township on April 27, 1935, he was a son of John R. and Sue Hlavko Yantek. John was retired from Giant Eagle in Washington, where he worked as a butcher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. John is survived by two sons; John Yantek of York and David (Wendy) Yantek of Bethel Park; five grandchildren, Katon, Cole, Benjamin, Jared and Allyson; and his brother, Michael Yantek of Arnold. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Matsko Yantek, in 2006; and a brother, Robert Yantek. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 405 Main St., Bentleyville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023. Interment will follow at Maple Creek Cemetery in Fallowfield Township.
