Donald N. McCall, 74, of Elizabeth, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. He was born June 8, 1948, in New Eagle, the son of James and Rowena Forsythe McCall. Don was a 1966 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. He was employed at Combustion Engineering until its closing and Round Hill Cemetery for over 20 years. He was currently employed by the Township of Forward, where he was the groundskeeper for their properties. For numerous years, Don was a firefighter and engineer for the Gallatin Sunnyside Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl “Diane” Smith McCall, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage on Aug. 3, 2022; two daughters, Dana McCall of Elizabeth, and Denise Allen and husband Jason of Independence, Va.; three grandchildren, Jacob McCall, Corey and Bailey Allen; and a sister, Gwenyth Burriss and husband Bill of Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald N. McCall Jr., who died June 17, 1991; and two brothers, Colin McCall and Bob Forsythe. At the request of the family, there will be no visitations or services for Don. He will be laid to rest in Jefferson Memorial Park. Arrangements were entrusted to FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC.
