Helen Seman Biksey, 94, of Belle Vernon, Lynnwood, passed away on Jan.  22, 2023, at Hallsworth House in Monessen. She was born April 18, 1928, in Arnold City, daughter of the late George and Anna Shandor Seman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years Charles Biksey; granddaughter, Marissa Biksey; grandson, Michael Biksey; her brothers, George, Paul and Andrew; and sisters, Anne Matway, Sue Beeler, Elizabeth Houseman and an infant sister, Mary Seman. Helen was a member of Saint Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen, where she taught religious education classes for over 40 years. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Ladies Guild, Legion of Mary, Secular Franciscan and Saint Anthony Fraternity. She enjoyed making rosaries for local and international missions and especially teaching children how to make and say the rosary. Helen was a Basilian Associate of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Province at Mount Saint Macrina, where she worked for many years at their annual Pilgrimage. Helen worked at Fayette County Housing Authority and was very proud of her work and caring for the elderly. Helen loved her family, her faith and God. She leaves behind cherished memories with her children, Charmelle (Gerald) Stasicha, Charles (Kathy) Biksey, Thomas (Germaine) Biksey, Tammy (Jeffrey) DiPiazza and Mary (Charles) Zebula; her grandchildren, who adored their Baba, Christopher (Karen) Stasicha, Haley (Steven) Kirk, Amy (Jason) Green, Charles Biksey, Sara (Paul) Jones, Samantha (John) Stone, Jeffrey DiPiazza, Zachary, Joshua and Abigail Zebula and Michelle Biksey; and seven great- grandchildren, Carter and Mason Stasicha, Riley and Lucas Jones, Gina Green, Owen Kirk and Lili Biksey. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Panahida will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen with the Rev. Stephen J. Wahal as celebrant. Interment will take place in Mt. Macrina Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made in Helen’s memory to the Sisters of Saint Basil the Great, Mt. St. Macrina, 500 W. Main St., Uniontown, PA 15401 or to Hallsworth House Activity Fund c/o Toni Bucci, 1661 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062.
