Douglas Dean Jr., 74, of Fallowfield Township, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, in his home. He was born Aug. 14, 1948, in North Charle- roi, son of the late Douglas and Helen Clingenpeel Dean. Doug was a 1966 graduate of California High School. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Duquesne Light in Pittsburgh, where he was employed for 28 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 801 in Roscoe and Veterans of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of the NRA and Long Branch Sportsmans Club, where he did competitive shooting with his wife, Stefanie. Doug was a good Christian throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding his Harley. He was very knowledgeable when it came to doing anything and was an expert when doing it. He truly loved his chihuahuas, Coco, Rae Belle, Ralph, Louie, Pebbles, Saylor and Dash. He is survived by his wife, Stefanie Dubnansky Dean, with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage on Sept. 26, 2022; four daughters, Morgan Dean of McKeesport, Jillian (Katelin Ellefson) Dean of Fallowfield Township, Hillary (Scott) Barber of Finleyville and Erika Dean of Fallowfield Township; three grandchildren, Stefanie Saffire, Derek Douglas and Noah Nikolai Dean; four sisters, Pamela (Mickey) Messina of Surfside Beach, S.C., Colleen Dean of California, Bobbie Jean (Denny) Kozuch of Friedens and Rebecca (Ralph) Holt of Richeyville. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, with the Rev. Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
