Alfred John Gondos, 99, passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2022, at home in Highland, Calf. Born in Monongahela, Pa., on July 25, 1923, to Steve and Marie Gondos. He married the love of his life Betty in 1943, before being deployed to India. He served four years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He eventually moved his family to California and found employment at Kaiser Steel and retired after 30 years. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Highland Calif. He and Betty had five children, Alfred Jr., Wayne, Kathy, Jim and Karen. In addition to his wife, Alfred was preceded in death by his twin brother, Albert Gondos; sister, Ruth Gorondy; sister, Lillian Marraccini; brother, Steve Gondos; and brother Paul Gondos. He is survived by five children, 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; three of his eight siblings, Rosemarie Daittillio, Robert Gondos and Barbara Lenzi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by many. Burial was at Riverside National Cemetery, California, on Dec. 29, 2022.
