Shapiro, Davis sworn into office

HARRISBURG, Pa. (MVI) —Pennsylvania officially has a new governor. And his lieutenant governor is a son of the Mon Valley. Democrat Josh Shapiro on Tuesday became the 48th governor of Pennsylvania at the inaugural ceremony at the state Capitol. Shortly before Gov. Shapiro took his oath on a stack of three Jewish Bibles, Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, a McKeesport Democrat, was sworn in on the floor of the state Senate. Standing by his side was his wife, Blayre Holmes Davis, a Donora native who is now Pennsylvania’s second lady.
