Current Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi — and his new running mate Cindy Fisher — have announced joint candidacy for the board of commissioners.
Maggi and Fisher, who is chairperson of the Cecil Township Board of Supervisors, will run as a team this year on the Democratic ticket.
Maggi, a retired state trooper and former county sheriff who lives in Buffalo Township, is seeking his sixth term as commissioner. He currently serves as vice chairman of the board.
The duo made their announcement Thursday in downtown Washington, with family, friends and other elected officials in attendance.
During his remarks, Maggi highlighted his work to keep Washington County’s tax rate as one of the lowest in southwestern Pennsylvania.
