Girls Shootout Classic tips off Friday

The first annual Mon Valley Independent Girls Shootout Classic closes an exciting week of basketball here in the Mon Valley Friday and Saturday.
The event will be hosted by the California girls basketball team at California Area High School beginning at 2 p.m. each day.
In all, nine teams are participating, with four games scheduled for each day.
The days are broken into two sessions, an afternoon and evening, with admission costing $6 per session. All tickets will be sold at the gate.
The showcase kicks off with an afternoon matinee, a 2 p.m. tipoff between the host Trojans and Monessen.
