Sgt. Timothy Duane Lytle – Holly Ridge, N.C.

Sgt. Timothy Duane Lytle, 75, U.S. Navy and U.S. Army veteran of 31 years, of Holly Ridge, N.C., passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C. Tim was born Dec. 18, 1946, in McKeesport, to William Vincent and Madeline Foytick Lytle. Both have preceded him in death. He attended Pennsylvania State University. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star for bravery. He is survived by his loving partner and best friend, Kathy Cantrell of Holly Ridge, N.C., and his dear stepsister, Sandra Tyler of McKeesport, as well as special family members, Jim, Dawn and Hiatt Ellis of North Topsail Beach, and Rebecca Ellis of Mexico City, Mexico. A memorial service will take place in January at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church, Surf City, N.C. Timothy will make his final sail on a U.S. Navy vessel shortly afterward.
