Robert Gordon Wyeth, 92, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Charles and Edna Smith Wyeth, he was born in New Eagle on April 12, 1930. Previously of Uniontown, Robert has been a resident of Belle Vernon for over 60 years. He was a United States Navy and Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 484 in Fayette City. Robert was also a private airplane pilot for 52 years out of Rostraver Airport and enjoyed repairing and building grandfather clocks. He is survived by his fiancé whom he has spent over 15 years with, Patricia Nobel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Mark Miller of Hunker, Lannette and David Rygiel of Fayette City, and Darla and Dennis Mendicino of Belle Vernon; two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Betsy Nicksich of Greensburg and Daniel and Donna Nicksich of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Putnam, George (Nichole) Nicksich, Joshua Miller, Timothy (Donna) Miller, Danny Nicksich, Andrew Nicksich, Derek (Hannah) Nicksich, Michael (Stephanie) Rygiel, Melanie (Lee) Gauden, Tyler Frankel and Taylor Mendicino, 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Gracie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Wyeth, in 1963; his second wife, Dolores Wyeth, in 2004; and a sister, Patricia Berdino. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at 5 p.m. with Dan Nicksich officiating. Interment will be in Barren Run Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Fayette Friends of Animals.
