Derrick ‘G’ Maxwell Dixon – Monongahela, formerly of Monessen

Derrick “G” Maxwell Dixon, 35, of Monongahela formerly of Monessen, passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2022, at Jefferson Hills Manor in Clairton following a lengthy illness. He was born on Dec. 2, 1987, to the late John Dixon and Antoinette Saunders Dixon in Monongahela. G was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 2007. He was a sneaker-head who loved to play video games and was always ready to play. He loved to watch, play and talk football. In recent years he was a traveler and a foodie who liked to try new things and go new places. He will be missed by all of his friends whom he loved and his dogs (his bullies). Derrick is survived by his son, whom he loved very much, Derrick Dixon Jr.; his girlfriend, Tara Allen of Elizabeth; sister, Sonnet Pichardo of Houston, Texas; brother, Merle Gathers of Columbus, Ga.; and his best friend and mother to his son, Shayna Arnold. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2022, at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. Out of respect for his memory and his family, the family requests there be no cell phone use or photos in the funeral home during visitation.
