Matthew H. Sekerka – Rostraver Township

Matthew H. Sekerka, 60, of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Born in Monongahela on March 10, 1962, he was the son of the late Paul and Hazel Jean Opfer Sekerka. Matt was the greatest and most loving Daddy, Papa and father-in-law. He was a union carpenter and employee of Dimarco Construction for the past 16 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Brian Huebner; beautiful granddaughter, Braelynn Jean; as well as his brother-in-law, Ed Sitar; sister-in-law, Sue Santo Colombo; cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. In addition to his parents, Matt was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Sekerka; his in-laws, Patricia and Edward Sitar; sisters-in-law, Karen L. Wilson and Anita Sitar; and brother-in-law, Dean Santo Colombo. As per Matt’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial will be scheduled in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to your local animal shelter/rescue.
