McKeesport approves spending plan for 2023

The City of McKeesport will head into the new year with a balanced budget that doesn’t come with a property tax increase. The spending plan places revenues and expenditures at an estimated $25,628,925. Before city council unanimously voted in favor of the spending plan at this month’s meeting, Mayor Michael Cherepko explained that the City Hall finance team worked hard — and in the face of rising costs from inflation — to create a fiscal plan that didn’t raise real estate taxes.
