Rostraver Township board discusses discord over emails

A formal policy may be coming next year to handle a commissioner who Rostraver officials say is undermining the township’s top employee.
Township Manager Jeff Keffer garnered support from several commissioners Wednesday, after he read and entered into the record three emails he received from Commissioner John Lorenzo.
Keffer claimed in a round-table discussion yesterday that in the last month in a half, Lorenzo has called into question his effectiveness in running the township’s day-to-day affairs. Keffer said the accusations have bogged down various township departments and threatened his ability to oversee employees.
“There does need to be a policy set because, again, I think the efficiency and the effectiveness of the operation of the township have been dramatically changed compared to how things were several years ago,” said Keffer.
