By obits

Richard Romeo Paoletti, from Glassport, passed away on Oct. 17, 2022, at the age of 86. Born to Domenico Paoletti and Florence Facciolo on Dec. 18, 1935, Richard graduated from Long Beach State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Richard was a professional electrical engineer and was awarded a certificate by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. He received numerous awards for his work around the world and was part of the Paris technical team for TRW which was his favorite job. Richard met and married Phyllis Gonzales of McKeesport at a young age and produced four children. He is survived by his loving children, Laura Paoletti, Leslie Paoletti, Eric John Paoletti and Richard Anthony Paoletti. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Meagan and Richard Austin Paoletti; great-grandchild, Addilee; daughters-in-law, Michelle and Marci Paoletti; his brothers, Ernie Paoletti (and wife, Phyllis) who reside in Ohio, Bobby Paoletti (and wife, Jerilyn) of Glassport; half-brother, Jimmy Magill; and half-sister, Pat Magill of the state of California. His brothers, Vincent and George; and sister, Mary preceded him in death. Richard and his brother, Ernie, opened their own successful business which afforded the opportunity to move to Los Angeles, Calif., where he spent the majority of his life. He was a man filled with a passion for adventure. He traveled to 74 countries and wrote a book on the history of the Paoletti family. He had a love for the arts and volunteered as a docent at the Getty Museum. His love for museums and poetry are found in his original poetic writings and photo albums. Richard was a man of God who accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. We look forward to being reunited with him. Richard’s ashes were spread out to sea, as he wished, at his favorite beach in Redondo Beach, Calif.
