Freda Romonosky – Speers

Freda Romonosky, 73, of Speers, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital.  A daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve Herron Watkins, she was born in North Charleroi on Sept. 20, 1949. A lifelong resident of the Charleroi area, Freda was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Charleroi, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Christian Mothers and the Speers Civic Club. She loved reading on her Kindle and playing games on her computer. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Heidi and Jason Hurst of Collinsburg, and Lexann Romonosky of Speers; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Connie Watkins of Fallowfield Township; two grandchildren, Genevieve Hurst and Jaxson Hurst, both of Collinsburg; one aunt, Norva Lewis of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex J. “A.J.” Romonosky on April 15, 1996; and a sister, Brenda Carter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew the Apostle, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi, with Father Joe Uzar. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be in West Newton Cemetery at a later date.
