Michael J. Swiantek – Rostraver Township
Michael J. Swiantek, 83, of Rostraver Township, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022. Born in Rostraver Township on Aug. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Michael E. and Elizabeth Zolock Swiantek. Mike was a truck driver and member of Western PA Teamsters; he retired from Wetterau in 2002 after 39 years of service. Mike was an auctioneer and an entrepreneur of flea markets. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne and loved to go hunting and fishing in Alaska. He was a hard-working man who loved his family and would do anything to take care of them! Mike honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He is survived by his sons, Michael E. (Joyce) Swiantek of Eagle River, Alaska, and Matthew Swiantek of Elizabeth; daughters, Carole A. (Randy) Leach of New Eagle, Patricia A. (George) David of Elrama and Sandra A. Fosbrink of Finleyville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Carole (Dave) Pleva of Burton, Ohio; and his beloved dog, Duke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra E. Harris Swiantek, in 2000; and his companion of 16 years, Jeanie Green. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne with the Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
