Monessen’s fiscal outlook improves

Things are different financially this year in the City of Monessen, according to the mayor. Ron Mozer said if you’ve been paying attention to what’s been going on in the city for the last 10 years, you know the city is usually in a panic stage this time of year. “They’re usually using garbage revenue to keep things going,” Mozer said. “Not this time.” At of the first council meeting of this month, Mozer said the city had $1.6 million in the bank.
