End of an era: Corning/World Kitchen retirees gather for last time

Members of the Corning/World Kitchen Retirees Association are more than just former co-workers — they are family.
On Tuesday, gathered around a small, but festive, table at Speers Street Grill, members of the dwindling organization gathered for their final Christmas dinner.
During a meeting Nov. 8 at Riverside Place in Charleroi, officers voted to disband the organization despite much effort to attract new membership.
Current President Colette Sphar said despite begging and pleading, new members have not stepped in, and with such a great loss of past members since the onset of the pandemic, it was too difficult to carry on.
