Monessen’s Ethel Peshok maintains an extremely grateful attitude towards life as she approaches her 100th birthday on Monday.
The lifelong Monessen native — minus just about two years spent in Wilmington, Del., with her late husband, William, who was stationed there with the U.S. Coast Guard — has three daughters, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her oldest daughter, Patricia Ryder, splits her residency between California and Latrobe, while her daughter Betty Geis lives next door and daughter Debbie Genemore lives with her.
It’s her family that brings her the most joy nowadays, as she relishes opportunities to gather everyone together like they will on Sunday to celebrate before Peshok’s big day.
