One juvenile is dead and another is in critical condition after a double-shooting Tuesday afternoon outside of a gas station/convenience store on Versailles Avenue in McKeesport.
The news came less than 24-hours after the NAACP McKeesport Unit held a community forum to discuss gun violence and violent crime in and around the city.
The Allegheny County Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating the case, and detectives said McKeesport police and other first responders were called around 3:35 p.m. to the 3400 block of Versailles.
The identities of the two males had not been released as of press time. Nearly a dozen evidence markers could be seen on the ground near the Uni-Mart store’s front entrance.
McKeesport Area School District Superintendent Dr. Tia Wanzo confirmed that at least one of the juveniles involved in the shooting incident is an MASD student.
