A grieving family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved Nino Anthony Giorgi, 76, of Washington, formerly of Charleroi, on Dec. 12, 2022. Born on Dec. 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Orlando “Tito” and Lorraine Nesti Giorgi. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi, where he served as a lector until COVID-19. He was a 1964 graduate of Charleroi High School, where he was the band president and appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968 and worked as a math instructor at ICM School of Business. In 1976, he joined his family business, Rego’s Restaurant, in Charleroi, until his retirement in 2012. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Tamara Giorgi; sons, Justin Lake and husband Robert, of Gilbert, Ariz., Marc Giorgi and wife JoMarie, of Washington, and Aaron Giorgi, of Waynesburg; grandchildren, the twinkle in his heart, Anthony and Maria Giorgi; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Godfrey and husband Willard, of Belle Vernon, and Jeff Raymond, and wife Kathy, of Pittsburgh, and their families; many Nesti and Giorgi relatives in the Mon Valley and throughout the country; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Victoria Giorgi Baxter. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be private, in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their ministry and care to Nino and his family.
