Anyone who has spent anytime at a Monessen Council meeting this year knows the theme for Mayor Ron Mozer’s administration has been “working together.”
Over the past couple of weeks, he’s taken that to what some might think is a new level.
Mozer is working with former mayors Mary Jo Smith and Lou Mavrakis — a trio that would likely turn heads in Monessen if they were seen grabbing dinner together, let alone working together.
But, when it gets right down to it, the three mayors want what is best for the city and, luckily for residents, they know working together is the only way to make it happen.
The trio is working together to help clear as many blighted properties that need to be demolished as possible before the $10 million set aside by Westmoreland County to clear blight is spent.
