Authority board makes purchase offer to Charleroi

An offer has been put on the table in Charleroi Borough to buy the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi — by the authority itself.
Residents who attended council’s agenda meeting Wednesday night received news in regard to an ongoing contentious topic in the borough – the potential asset evaluation and sale of the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi (ABC).
ABC made its stance clear — they don’t want to sell.
That was solidified when the water authority board passed a resolution Oct. 25 outlining the reasons why they believe it would not be in the best interest of the municipalities it serves or its customers.
They made that stance clear again Wednesday, when it was revealed and confirmed that ABC has presented the borough with an offer to purchase the authority.
