Myrna Frederick-Markham – Belle Vernon

By obits

Myrna Frederick-Markham was born on Oct. 3, 1930. She began and ended her life in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. However, there were many adventures and life events in between for Myrna in places like California, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Connecticut. Dynamic, special, generous, brave and forward-thinking are just a few words to describe our special girl. A true Italian, she had the ability to respond to anything without saying a word; using only hand gestures and facial expressions. She never became elderly and would often tell you that she was “39 and holding, darling.” Her in-vogue wardrobe, unique gold jewelry and classy home decor mirrored the Iris Apfel motto, “more is more and less is a bore.” Myrna’s true joys in life were her family, friends, and her time with God. She loved to entertain as well as go out for events and would say “I walked in (to this party) like a lady, and I’ll walk out like a lady.” In her spare time, she loved shopping, reading, shopping, cleaning, shopping, talking on the phone, shopping and Hallmark Christmas movies (but only the ones that had a handsome prince in the leading role). She thrived when taking care of others throughout her life; both older and younger than her. Myrna was described by medical professionals as a “Sour Patch Kid” (first sour, then sweet).    Myrna was a daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, wife, mother, godmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, grandaunt, great-grandaunt, great-great-grandaunt and a friend to so many. The chapters in the book of our beloved Myrna Markham are now complete. However, this book is already a classic…to be quoted and remembered, forever. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by prayers of transfer at 9:30 a.m. and funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Myrna F. Markham to Heartland Hospice. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
