Julia L. Auth, 95, of Monongahela, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, in Cambridge Creekside, Charleroi. She was born May 8, 1927, in Monongahela, daughter of John and Anna Sabbach Wassel. Julia was a very devoted member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. She was a lector, member of the Ladies of Charity, was on many committees and was chosen and honored for the Manifesting the Kingdom award in 2006, for her service to her church. She loved and lived her faith and attended church every day. As a young girl, she waitressed at Monongahela Valley Country Club. She was also employed at Span & Taylor Drug Store in Monongahela, Charland Sewing Factory in Charleroi, as a supervisor, and Brookvale Sewing Factory in Monessen. She was a wonderful seamstress and made patterns and clothing for her children, grandchildren and even baby dolls. Julia played in numerous card clubs, enjoyed crocheting and spent hours tending to her flower garden. Julia was also faithful and loving to all of her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Pellegrini of Fallowfield Township and  Marlane Spitznagel of Rostraver Township; six grandchildren, Tiffany (Bill) Payne, Jamie (Antonia) Pellegrini, Bethany (D.J.) Pellegrini, Julie (Eric) Zubovic, Michael (Jill) Spitznagel, Adam (Danielle) Spitznagel; 21 great-grandchildren, Brennan, Tegan, Michael, Geno, Dominic, Nikko, Gianni, Gabriella, Ryder, Maximus, Kambri, Haley, Ryan, Blake, Ava, Mia, Brooke, Alexa, Audreana, Greyson and Adam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Regis John Auth, who died Dec. 14, 1991; son, Richard “Rickey” Auth, who died April 1, 2022; two sisters, Anna Mae Tegi and Margaret Sosanko; and a brother who died in infancy. At the request of the family, visitations and Mass of Christian burial for Julia were private. Committal services and interment took place in the Monongahela Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., Monongahela. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 772 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
