David B. Wingo, 70, of Monongahela, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born June 23, 1952, in Pittsburgh, son of the late David and Margaret Ann McKee Wingo. David retired from the New Eagle Street Department with 32 years of employment and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. David was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar for numerous years. He played for The Memories for 22 years, and then for The Vogues for another 15 years, both in Pittsburgh. For several years, he taught guitar lessons at From The Top Music Shop in Monongahela. Besides his family, he loved spending time with his golden retriever, Prancer. They went for walks, fished and rode together on the golf cart. The two of them were inseparable. He is survived by his wife, Christine Lauterbach Wingo, with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage on Jan. 13, 2022; two sons, Dallas Wingo at home, and Jeremy Wingo and fiancé Angela Fleischman of Monongahela; daughter, Jennifer Wingo at home; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Austin and Breanna Wingo, Gabrielle Fornili, Bradley Fleischman and Caraline and Emily Wingo; three-great grandchildren, Alaina, Arthur and Kinzley Wingo; sister, Kimberly Colleran and husband, Robert J. of Venetia and their children, Bobby and Kelly Colleran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Prancer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Monongahela. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
