Dannel Mark Calcagni – Brookline
Dannel Mark Calcagni, 65, of Brookline, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital. The son of the late Gerald Calcagni Sr. and Eula Sandy Peters, he was born in Mount Pleasant on Oct. 14, 1957. Formerly of Belle Vernon and Star Junction, he has been a resident of Brookline for the past 17 years. After graduating from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1975, he attended technician training school in 1980. Dannel had an extensive history of working in the heating and air conditioning and appliance repair fields with numerous companies, including Sears Roebuck, Amana, LG and Daniel’s Appliance, finishing his career with Allegheny County. Dannel had a wonderful sense of humor, and his laughter was contagious. He also was an excellent cook and loved to share that talent with his family and friends. He also had an overwhelming love for his pet dog, Reesecups, and got great enjoyment from feeding and watching the outdoor birds and deer. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Crista and Steven Nicklow of Uniontown; a son, Graham Calcagni of Chicago, Ill.; the mother of his children, Helen Calcagni of Star Junction; two grandchildren, Sidney Calcagni and Raine Carocci; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Denise and Gary Hillman of Belle Vernon and Dee Dee Bucci of Belle Vernon; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” and Maggie Calcagni Jr.; his dear friend, Karyn Zerr; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. His loss felt on earth is tremendous, but his addition to heaven is surely glorious! In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Calcagni; a brother, Shawn Calcagni; his stepfather, Charles Peters; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Bucci. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Watson officiating.
