White Oak council promotes police officers

Recent changes within the White Oak Police Department were celebrated at Monday’s borough council meeting.
A longtime police detective was promoted to sergeant, an announcement was made about another officer being promoted to detective and the borough gave the police chief permission to take further steps toward equipping borough police officers with body cams.
Mayor Ina Jean Marton on Monday administered the oath of office to Stephen Bell, who had been a detective for the borough police department since 2014. Bell has worked for White Oak police for more than two decades.
