California women prevail, men suffer road defeat

After trailing by three at the half, the California (PA) women’s basketball team outscored host Central State, 46-25 in the second half to come away with a 78-60 win in non-conference action Monday.
Halle Herrington was the catalyst for the Vulcans (3-1), hitting five 3-pointers and finishing with a career-high 21 points.
Three other Vulcans finished with double-doubles in the win. Jordan Smith finished with 15 points. Allycia Harris added 14 points and 12 rebounds, including eight on the offensive end of the floor. Rajah Fink added 12 points and 11 boards, while Talia Gilliard added 12 points and 10 rebounds in only 21 minutes of action.
