Pennsylvania’s next lieutenant governor Austin Davis will serve as grand marshal of the 2022 Salute to Santa Parade in McKeesport Saturday morning.
Spectators can watch the parade parade from Fifth Avenue between Market and Huey streets.
Mayor Michael Cherepko said the Salute to Santa Parade is “McKeesport’s sign that the holiday season is upon us.” each and every day.”
The parade will also feature the Clairton High School Band.
Parade participants will line up at 10 a.m. (meet at Ninth and Market streets to get precession number), and emcees Mikey Dee and Patrick Fisher will announce the parade’s start at 11 a.m. sharp. Participants had to register in advance to be in the parade lineup.
This will be the 57th year the city has welcomed Santa Claus — and kicked off the holiday season — by way of the Salute to Santa Parade.
Spectators will know the parade is coming to an end when they see Santa ride down Fifth Avenue atop the McKeesport Fire Department ladder truck.
