Cougars’ season ends with shutout loss

Charleroi’s season came to an end on Saturday afternoon as the Cougars fell to McConnellsburg, 1-0, in the PIAA Class 1A quarterfinals at Somerset Area High School. The season, which featured the program’s first WPIAL championship appearance since 1987 and its first-ever state playoff win, was a successful one despite the undesirable result.
