S. Allegheny celebrates veterans

Students at South Allegheny Elementary School gleamed with patriotism on the eve of Veterans Day. Dressed in red, white and blue — and with some wearing handmade paper hats bearing stars and stripes — the kids and their teachers filled the gymnasium for an assembly recognizing veterans. Nearly 50 veterans attended, entering the gym through a tunnel of American flag-waving scouts from Boy Scout Troop 53 in Port Vue.
