Diane Marie Anders – New Eagle

Diane Marie Anders, 61, of New Eagle, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1960, in New Eagle, daughter of the late Otis and Elizabeth Chiedor Helmantoler. Diane was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. She was an active member of the Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle and was very involved with its Vacation Bible School. For 20 years, Diane was employed by the Ringgold School District as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the AFSCME union and was on its negotiating committee. Diane was a Cub Scout den leader of Pack 1446 in Monongahela and was also the program director for the Mon Valley District Day Camp. She loved to go camping with her family and had a passion for watching “The Young and the Restless.” She is survived by her husband, Steven M. Anders, with whom she celebrated 33 years of marriage on July 15, 2022; son, Steven M. Anders Jr., at home; four sisters, Jean (David) Morris of Bordentown, N.J., Lucy (William) Payne of Monongahela, Betsy (Ron) Agostoni of Elrama and Janet (Tim) Basey of Donora; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Otis and Rose Helmantoler. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, with the Rev. Donald Dague officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 1448 and mailed c/o The First Christian Church, 630 Chess St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
