Lewis Laurance Savisky – Mooresville, N.C., formerly of New Eagle

Mr. Lewis Laurance Savisky, 85, passed away on Sept. 18, 2022, in Mooresville, N.C. Lew was a native of New Eagle. He spent 42 years in Beckley, W. Va. He then moved, in 2018, close to his family in Mooresville, N.C. Lew was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Mining Engineer degree. He spent his career working in the coal mining industry in West Virginia. He was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Beckley. He loved spending time with family and friends, golfing, and supporting his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers! He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Savisky; grandmother, Mary Ann Savisky Baktys; and grandchild, Cameron Savisky. Lew is survived by his wife, Rosemary Pileggi Savisky; sister, Mary Ann Savisky; children, Lew Savisky (Terri Savisky), Cathy Savisky, Michael Savisky (Sherri Savisky), Laura Savisky Nusser (Bill Nusser) and Chris Savisky (Elizabeth Savisky); grandchildren, Ryne Savisky, Tyler Savisky (Demi Savisky), Connor Benach, Michael A Savisky, Hayley Nusser, Carmela Benach, Tara Savisky, Hannah Savisky, Kenneth Nusser, Catherine Nusser, Nicholas Savisky, Caroline Savisky and Sarah Savisky; great-grandchild, Emmett Savisky; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church; 722 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association by calling 800-272-3900, mailing to 225 N.
