Dogs can now join owners on Rostraver Township walking trail

Dog owners — and their four-legged friends — are now free to enjoy the one-mile walking trail located within the John DiVirgilio Sports Complex in Rostraver Township.
The township’s board of commissioners agreed Wednesday on 11 new rules and regulations for governing resident use of the sports complex.
Most rules established were to be expected, such as a ban on the possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages and the use of illicit drugs.
But the resolution did not ban dogs on the complex altogether. It did establish, however, that dogs must be on a leash at all times and are never to be walked or let loose on any of the athletic fields.
