By obits

Douglas Andrew Breuer, 74, of Raleigh, N.C., died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022. He was born in Pittsburgh on April 1, 1948, and is the son of Carl Andrew Breuer and Dolores Ogden; and brother to Carole Sarber and Bruce Breuer. He graduated from Rostraver High School before going to the University of Miami for his undergraduate degree. He would go on to receive an MBA from West Virginia University. For most of his career he was an industrial engineer, and in that capacity spent many years working for Schering-Plough in South Florida and GlaxoSmithKline in North Carolina; Douglas had many friends and pursued a variety of hobbies, most notably shooting and fishing, and a love of dogs, in particular Airedale terriers. Spending time outdoors held a special place in his heart from the time he was a child, as it played a role in strengthening him after an early childhood illness. He was also very technically inclined and could fix just about anything. Though Doug had been declining for years due to dementia, he never lost his love for his family or his dog. Everyone who knew him will remember his fun sense of humor, which he passed on to his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his two sons, Gordon and Grant; and his fourth Airedale named Rusty.
