Dennis ‘Poopsie’ Melvin – Charleroi

Dennis “Poopsie” Melvin, 78, of Charleroi, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at Mount Macrina Manor. He was born in North Charleroi on Sept. 11, 1944, son of the late Joseph and Norma Leach Melvin. Dennis was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi, a member of the Tenth Street Athletic Club and loved playing cards. He was retired from the former Corning Glass in Charleroi. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Rachel) Melvin of Allenport and Michael Melvin of Monongahela; a daughter, Melissa (William) Katrin of Long Branch; five grandchildren, Danielle Rohrer, Josh Toth, Demi Levandosky, Haley Levandosky and J.J. Melvin; a great-granddaughter, Addie Rohrer; and two brothers, Joseph (Caroline) Melvin of Belle Vernon and Greg (Patricia) Melvin of Fallowfield Township. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Donna DiMonde Melvin, in 2009. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2022, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Charleroi. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. The family would like to thank the staff of Mount Macrina Manor for their care and comfort.
