Ronald Wayne Corman, 81, of Fort Myers, Fla., died on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022. He was born in McKeesport on July 4, 1941, and is the son of the late Harry O. and Martha Louise Hunter Corman. He graduated from Duquesne High School and attended Waynesburg University and the University of Pittsburgh. Ronald proudly served in the United States Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal as a sharpshooter. After serving in the United States Army, he retired from CSX after 32 years as a locomotive engineer. He was a member of numerous organizations, including General Smedley D. Butler Post 701 of the American Legion in White Oak; Braddock Elks Lodge No. 883; Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania Infinity Lodge No. 546 in Penn Hills; Shriners International; Moose General Assembly Lodge No. 3000; Boston Vets Club; GBU in Duquesne; and the McKeesport Sportsmen’s Association. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Irene Parknavy Corman; and niece, nephews and many cousins. Family and friends will gather at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon, when services will be held in the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Ronald’s memory may be sent to the Gladiolus Food Pantry, 10511 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908. This would be greatly appreciated by all those falling victim to Hurricane Ian.
